I purchased a full set of Titleist AP1 712 irons last March following a custom club fitting. I have to admit that it was the most I have ever spent on a set of irons. Overall I am pleased with the results. The AP1's play well. My misses are still decent shots, and when I strike the ball properly I see great results and the ball simply jumps off the club face. I have more rounds in the 70's this year than last year without a doubt.

My problem was an issue with the glue on the back of the club head on my 3 iron. I did send the club in for repairs as the glue kept seeping out of the back of the cavity even though I had already played over 30 rounds with it.

The local Golf Town was very nice and helpful (even though I did not purchase the clubs there) and sent the club in for repairs. Unfortunately 3 weeks have gone by and still no 3 iron in my bag. Kind of sad to think I finally decided to go for broke and buy the best and end up having to send something back for the first time ever. I have never had an issue with any clubs I have ever purchased. Only grip replacements (of course).

Now I cross my fingers and hope that the 3 iron shows up some day soon so that I can get it back in play before our Club Championship. Our course is very tight, and I generally hit the 3 iron on a number of shorter par 4's as it is a club I can trust to find the fairway safely and long.

    Hello Darius,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
It is very odd that it took this long for your iron to be fixed and/or replaced and we are looking into exactly why this was the case.  In short, it sounds like there was an attempt to fix the head but then it was decided that it be better that we just replace it all together.  There was a shortage on that head which delayed the process.  Still, it should not have taken anywhere close to 3 weeks for you to receive something back.  I can assure you that this is not normal procedure.

Your replacement is being built as we speak and I would expect it to be on your doorstep this Friday or the following Tuesday (due to the holiday).

If you have any questions or experience any further delays please let us know and we'll have them addressed immediately.

Apologies once again for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Regards,
Mitch D - Team Titleist Canada

Thanks Mitch...  I got a call from Golf Town as well informing me that the club is likely to show up this week. :)

I appreciate your information. I am sure that since my clubs were custom fit, Team Titleist will adjust the lie properly on the new head as well so that it will match my set. I can hardly wait to get it back in the bag in it's rightful place. The other clubs miss it almost as much as I do !

I have to say - I am very impressed with the service I got from Golf Town here in Barrie, Ontario. Even though I did not purchase the clubs there they have been very helpful with this repair issue. It says a lot for your "Team".

Thanks to the Team from Titleist and to the fine staff at the local Golf Town in Barrie. I now have my 3 iron back, and am looking forward to taking it out to the links for another great round with my AP1's.

    Darius
