I purchased a full set of Titleist AP1 712 irons last March following a custom club fitting. I have to admit that it was the most I have ever spent on a set of irons. Overall I am pleased with the results. The AP1's play well. My misses are still decent shots, and when I strike the ball properly I see great results and the ball simply jumps off the club face. I have more rounds in the 70's this year than last year without a doubt.
My problem was an issue with the glue on the back of the club head on my 3 iron. I did send the club in for repairs as the glue kept seeping out of the back of the cavity even though I had already played over 30 rounds with it.
The local Golf Town was very nice and helpful (even though I did not purchase the clubs there) and sent the club in for repairs. Unfortunately 3 weeks have gone by and still no 3 iron in my bag. Kind of sad to think I finally decided to go for broke and buy the best and end up having to send something back for the first time ever. I have never had an issue with any clubs I have ever purchased. Only grip replacements (of course).
Now I cross my fingers and hope that the 3 iron shows up some day soon so that I can get it back in play before our Club Championship. Our course is very tight, and I generally hit the 3 iron on a number of shorter par 4's as it is a club I can trust to find the fairway safely and long.
