Does anyone know if the new 913 Drivers will have the same shaft adaptor as the current 910 Drivers?

Great job Titleist! These prototypes are looking really good. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Only if I could demo one right now.

Will the 913  wrench work with the 910H?

    Will,

The 910 and 913 wrenches are in fact interchangable.  Although there will be a subtle difference in look, functionality will remain the same.

Great question Jeff.  Happy to learn from Mitch's response that the 913 driver and the current 910 use the same SureFit adaptor.  I presently have RIP 60S, RIP 70R, and a Voodoo S shafts for my current 910D2 driver so... it is good to know that these shafts will also fit the 913D3 I am thinking of ordering.

I understand that the 913 will be available for US shipping early November... will the 913 driver also be available in Canada at the same time?   I am hoping to pre-order a 913 D3 driver but not sure what loft to get.  My 910D2 is a 10.5 while the 909D2 and 907D2 are both 9.5 degrees of loft.  I found I had to go to a 10.5 in the 910 for my swing to get a similar trajectory to the older drivers I own.  Does the 913 hit the ball lower than the 910?   TIA

If you think they look cool, wait til you hear them and see them perform!

I just got fitted for a 913 D2 last week @ Titleist National Fitting Centre and it was total mission accomplished!  I've been using a 910 D2 over the past couple years and the new model along with a proper shaft fitting got my launch angle up, my spin rate down and increased my ball speed by approx. 3mph!!!

BIG shout out to Chris @ the Titleist National Fitting Centre!

    Thanks!!!!

    Peter,

I was fitted at my local GT by a Titleist rep and was surprised by the results.  I was lucky enough to get an hour of his time and was fit for a 913 D2 with a 9.5 X stiff Diamana Blue 62g shaft.  Its the first time I was recommended a X stiff shaft!  I just did the Ping Fitting center in Oakville and after my session, I was put in a Stiff shaft with a 10.5 degree G20.  Both drivers were equal numbers across the board except for my launch angle on the 913 was in the 11-12 where the G20 was 12-14.  Does this make sense?  My swing speed was around 105 and ball speed was high 140's.  The spin was around 3100.  I am pretty sure those numbers are decent but my confusion is the shaft and degree of club between the two.

Can anyone help clear it for me.  Is it because Titleist is using an aftermarket shaft where as Ping uses there own?

    Hey Tom,

With the caveat that I have not actually seen your swing, the numbers do make sense (to me anyway) and yes are pretty decent.  I'm guessing the Titleist rep went to the X-Stiff Diamana (which is NOT aftermarket as far as I know) because the dispersion numbers were a little tighter.  At @ 105 swing speed you're kinda right on the bubble where X-stiff may or may not make sense, depending on how often you are hitting the sweet spot.  To me, your ball speed suggests a Stiff Shaft might be more appropriate until you can get your smash factor up north of 1.45 on a consistent basis.  Again, I'm drawing a lot of assumptions without having seen your swing, etc. so I would still defer to the rep's expertise/judgement.

All shafts have their own 'normal' characteristics in terms of kickpoint, launch, etc. and they definitely vary based on manufacturer (there is no 'standard')  so I would not get caught up in the fact that one X-Stiff shaft gave you similar numbers to another Stiff shaft, especially if the weights were diffferent.  That said, if we were talking a 7.5 X-Stiff versus say a 11.5 Stiff and you were still seeing similar numbers THEN I'd starting asking questions but the specs you're indicating are not radically different.

Your launch angles are also pretty close, so in my opinion I'd focus on what ball flight YOU prefer to see and how much run out you're getting (or want) once the ball lands (which should be relatively similar if your spin rates are similar).  Also do you play regularly in windy conditions?  If so, perhaps the lower launch is preferable...again these are very small differences so it really does come down to your preference at this point.  And hey, if you want to make tiny tweaks, that's where beauty of the Sure Fit Adapter comes in!

Also, not to complicate matters, but the accuracy of the launch monitors may be slightly different.  It might be worth your while to go back to GT and see if they replicate the PING numbers you got so you can truly compare apples to apples in the same environment.

Lastly - and I've found this to be VERY important..... You need to be extremely honest with yourself at these fittings, particular when it comes to Drivers.  Are/were you swinging as hard as you would normally, etc.

Not sure if this helps or not, but have fun and keep it in the short grass!!!

    Peter,

First off, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out!  Kinda new to the forum and the your feedback is awesome!  I am going to wait until GT has the 913 in stock (which should be soon) and compare it to the G20.  I know what you mean about being honest when it comes to your swing at the fittings, but that is an area I will focus on once I get the time to try them both out.  The best thing about the fittings, the guys will actually show you what to look for in the numbers rather than how far and where it lands.

Once again, thanks for taking the time!
