I always used a Titleist Pro V1 when one year I decided since my swing had changed so much I should try some new balls and make sure Pro V1 was still the best ball. Through this process I started to like a competitive ball,  but not a lot better than the Pro V1. I decided to play the other ball for a while and had no issues until my first tournament. I stepped up on the tee in the State Am qualifier and could not get comfortable with the ball I was using. Around the greens I kept second guessing how the ball was going to react. After about the 4th hole I decided to switch back to an old Pro V1 that was still in my bag. Even though the ball was a little beat up I still instantly felt more comfortable. I love the Pro V1 and have made a promise to myself never to switch again.
