I've been playing golf for 60 years - my handicap for the last 50 has been between 5 and 8 - I have won two club championships, a few charity tournaments and 2 cars in hole-in-one contests associated with tournaments I played in - the one constant has been my ball - as soon as I could afford good balls, I played with an Acushnet and later switched to the Titleist which I've played ever since - although the Titleist is more expensive to buy than the others, on a cost-effectiveness basis it is the best - I get at least 3 to 4 rounds out of my Pro V1 and it always looks great. I have tried other balls occassionaly but 1)they chip and lose their luster after a couple of rounds, and 2) the feel on the green is no where near as good as with the Titleist - this is the most important feature as far as I am concerned. I have stayed a single digit handicap for all these years because of my short game and that is where the Titleist shines the best. I play Cleveland clubs because I worked for them for 12 years and like them but nothing could make me change by golf ball.
