JOHNSON TRUSTS TITLEIST FOR

 VICTORY IN TEXAS

TO COMPLETE

PRO V1 SIX-WIN WEEKEND

Full line Titleist player Zach Johnson claims back-to-back victories in Texas Valero Open as Pro V1 players win around the world

The Titleist Pro V1 rose to the top of the leaderboard across worldwide tours this weekend, led by Zach Johnson, who trusted the superior feel and performance of Titleist to claim the Valero Texas Open on the USPGA Tour.  Johnson followed his incredible third round 10-under par 60 with a level par 70 on Sunday to finish on 15-under par, 265, before a birdie at the first extra hole secured victory. Johnson’s victory was his second of the year following his Sony Open triumph, and his second consecutive win at the Valero Texas Open. Johnson was joined at the top of the leaderboard in San Antonio by Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas and Pro V1 loyalist Paul Goydos, who finished tied for third on 266, 14-under par, respectively.

Johnson’s (Pro V1x, 909 D2 driver, 909 F2 fairway, 909H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design Wedges) victory was the sixth of his career and propels him to the top of the FedEx Cup standings. In addition to leading Johnson to victory, Titleist was also the most played golf ball at the Valero Texas Open with 99 players, more than three times the nearest competitor with 30. Titleist also topped the counts for wedges with 146 players, and putters with 64 players.

Like Johnson, the winner of The 3 Irish Open on the European Tour trusted Titleist throughout his bag, and used the new Pro V1x to win in dramatic fashion at County Louth Golf Club. The leading Irish amateur finished on 17-under par, 271, to tie for the lead after 72-holes, before going on to par the third extra hole and claim victory in his first start on the European Tour. Titleist was the most played golf ball at the 3 Irish Open with 98 players (63% of the field) compared to 27 players for the nearest competitor.

Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour, Keith Fergus trusted the Pro V1 to claim a three stroke victory over fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Gene Jones (Pro V1x) at the rain shortened Regions Charity Classic. On the Nationwide Tour, full line Titleist player Michael Sim (new Pro V1x) emerged victorious from an all Titleist play-off at the BMW Charity Pro-Am as he defeated Titleist golf ball loyalist Fabien Gomez (new Pro V1x) with a par at the first extra hole. At the Sybase Classic on the LPGA Tour Ji Young Oh used the new Pro V1x to claim her second career LPGA Tour victory. Completing Titleist’s impressive six-win weekend was Titleist golf ball loyalist Doug McGuigan (Pro V1x), who claimed victory over Titleist brand ambassador Tyrone Van Aswegen in the Nashua Golf Challenge on the South African Tour. Victories on six worldwide tours for the Pro V1 family this weekend take Titleist’s 2009 worldwide win count to 53, more than 4 times the nearest competitor with 13 and more than all other brands combined.

Victory for full line Titleist player Johnson and five further victories for Pro V1 and Pro V1x across the professional worldwide tours prove that the world’s best players continue to opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
