Pablo Larrazabal Rookie

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR TITLE

FOR TITLEIST AMBASSADOR

LARRAZABAL

Pablo Larrazabal trusts Titleist throughout his magnificent maiden European Tour season

Full line Titleist player Pablo Larrazabal has been awarded the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award following a spectacular debut on the European Tour. Larrazabal claimed his maiden title in his first full season on Tour at the Open de France in June. After booking his place in the tournament by coming through the 36-hole pre-qualifying event, the Spaniard went on to taste victory by an impressive four strokes, fending off challenges from Ryder Cup and fellow Titleist ball players Lee Westwood (Pro V1x) and Soren Hansen (Pro V1x).

In addition, the 25 year-old captured three top ten finishes to claim 18th place in the European Tour Order of Merit and secure the Rookie of the Year title ahead of full line Titleist player Robert Dinwiddie and Titleist ball player Ross McGowan (Pro V1x). Larrazabal Follows in the footsteps of fellow Titleist ambassador Martin Kaymer who won the award in 2007.

“Obviously the main reason I won the award was for winning the Open de France ALSTOM, and I’ll never forget that victory,” said Larrazabal. “To win such a big tournament the way I did, with guys like Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie chasing me on the last day, was just amazing. It’s an amazing honour to be named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year, because there are so many great young players on Tour today.”

Larrazabal trusted Titleist throughout his rookie season including Pro V1x, 735.CM Irons, Vokey Wedges and T10 Studio Select Putter and in recent weeks he has followed in the footsteps of a number of other Titleist ambassadors by putting the new 909 metals in tournament play. Following successful testing of the 909 products late in the 2008 season Larrazabal has chosen to add the 909D3 driver, 909F2 fairway and 909H hybrid to his bag and, in doing so, places his trust in Titleist from tee-to-green.

The 909 series, which are now available to the European market, is the most comprehensive driver, fairway and hybrid line-up in Titleist's history. The three-model 909 driver line comprises of 909DComp, 909D2, 909D3 each of which feature modern, high performance, tour approved shapes and a precisely positioned centre of gravity for optimised launch conditions and ball flight. The new 909 drivers have already become a regular feature in the winner's circle on Tour with Chez Reavie, Parker McLachlin and Zach Johnson having all claimed victories with the 909D2. Most recently, Davis Love III claimed a second Tour win for the 909D3 following on from Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano’s victory at the Quinn Insurance British Masters earlier in the year.

The 909 drivers are complemented by the new high performance 909F2 and 909F3 fairways and a progressive line of 909H hybrids, all of which are finding favour with Tour players on both sides of the Atlantic, 2008 European Tour Order of Merit winner Robert Karlsson (909F3), Adam Scott (909F2 & 909H), Martin Kaymer (909F2) and the aforementioned Pablo Larrazabal (909F2 & 909H) to name but a few.

A fantastic Rookie of the Year award for full line Titleist player Pablo Larrazabal adding to a first European Order of Merit title for Titleist Ambassador Robert Karlsson, combined with the constant flow of victories for Pro V1 players around the world, prove once again that the game's elite continue to opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
