HOCH'S PLAYOFF VICTORY IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT

It took three playoff holes, and an extra night to think about it, but in the end it all paid off with a victory for Scott Hoch and Titleist® at the Ford Championship at Doral. Trusting the Pro V1x™ golf ball, Hoch converted the putt that awaited him from Sunday's delay due to darkness, and then birdied the third playoff hole for the win. The victory was the 17th of Hoch's impressive career, including his 11th PGA Tour title.

Hoch joins a 2003 PGA Tour winners' circle that is chock full of seasoned veterans who continue to trust Titleist for their year in and year out success. His win is the 8th for Titleist through the first 10 PGA Tour events this season, including two victories each by Ernie Els (Pro V1x) and Mike Weir (New Pro V1™ as well as Vijay Singh (Titleist Pro V1x), Davis Love III (Pro V1x) and Frank Lickliter (New Pro V1). Additional victories on the Champions, Nationwide and South African tours this week increases Titleist's worldwide victory count to 27, 20 more than the nearest competitor with 7, and more than all other golf balls combined.

EIGHT IS GREAT AT DORAL: The Ford Championship included a total of 8 Titleist players who finished among the top 10 and ties. In addition to Hoch (Pro V1x), top 10 finishers included: Bob Tway (3rd, Pro V1x), Kenny Perry (T5th, New Pro V1), Heath Slocum (T5th, Pro V1x), Skip Kendall (T8th, New Pro V1), Cliff Kresge (T8th, Pro V1x), Shaun Micheel (T8th, New Pro V1) and Rod Pampling (T8th, Pro V1x).

THE FUTURA IS NOW: The Ford Championship marked the first PGA Tour victory achieved with the new Scotty Cameron by Titleist Futura putter. The Futura is an advanced multi-material, multi-weight design, that features a lightweight milled aluminum face and frame with a deep semi-circular steel back weight. The champion finished first for the week in birdies with 24, and was among the top five in putts per greens in regulation. With the win at the Ford Championship, Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters are now a perfect 10-for-10 on the 2003 PGA Tour.

CHAMPIONS CHAMPION: David Eger, relying upon the New Pro V1 golf ball, birdied three of the final four holes at the MasterCard Classic for a final round 7-under par 65 and his first career Champions Tour title. Eger becomes the fourth player to win with Titleist through the first five Champions Tour events this season. Nine of the top 10 finishers, including each of the top 7, trusted Titleist for their success.

WINNING DOWN UNDER ON NATIONWIDE TOUR: Titleist is 2-for-2 to start the 2003 Nationwide Tour season, as Titleist Pro V1x player Ryan Palmer captured the Clearwater Classic in New Zealand by three strokes. It was just the second career start for Palmer on the Nationwide Tour, who also relied upon a Titleist Titanium 983E driver, 970 Series fairway metal, DCI 762 irons and Vokey Design pitching, sand and lob wedges. Palmer, whose four-day total of 271 matched the tournament record set last year, topped a leaderboard that included 8 Titleist players among the 11 who finished among the Top 10 and ties. Last week, Pro V1x player Joe Ogilvie captured the Nationwide Tour's season-opening event in Australia.

WINNING A TO Z: From Australia to Zambia, Titleist is winning the world over. Johan Edfors captured the rain-shortened Stanbic Zambia Open on the South African Tour playing a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball. Edfors, who fired a third round 66, finished 13-under for the 54-hole event to win by four strokes.

ELS IN THE HUNT AGAIN: On the PGA European Tour, Ernie Els (Pro V1x) finished second at the Dubai Desert Classic by one stroke for the second time this year. Els, who has one four events already this season relying upon the Pro V1x golf ball and a full bag of Titleist golf clubs, fired four consecutive rounds in the 60's at Dubai.
WEEK'S BEST: Kenny Perry's 8-under 64 was the best score in the final round, matching Rod Pampling's opening-round 64 as the best of the week. Both players finished among the Top 10 with Perry relying upon the New Pro V1, while Pampling prefers the Pro V1x.

BIRDIES WERE FLYING: Billy Mayfair put together the best birdie-eagle streak on TOUR this year, running off a 7-under par stretch over six holes (B-B-B-E-B-B) on Saturday. Mayfair plays the Titleist Pro V1x and a full bag of Titleist equipment for his success, including a Titleist Titanium 983E driver, Titleist Forged 690CB irons, Vokey Design sand and lob wedges and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Newport Two putter.
