  1. I left a few things out so, if you choose, please use this slightly edited version from my original submission. I won't upload the pictures again.

Thanks!! I was on an annual trip to Big Cedar in Branson, MO with 23 other guys. This is the 8th year for the Marriage Minute Ministries Men's Golf Retreat and my third year to attend. It was a beautiful and cool morning and guys from our MMM group were on the green above #2 tee box, on the #1 tee and fairway on top of the ridge above #2 and on the #3 tee box beyond the #2 green. As we prepared to tee off, two of the younger guys in our foursome, Colton French and Austin Calley, were talking about the ridge down the middle of the green and how we need to stay left of the ridge as the pin was back left. I chuckled and said, "Guys, Todd (Reynolds) and I just want to get on the green." After Colton hit first and hit the green but well short of the flag, he said he had hit his 4 iron towards the toe. I hit next and flushed my 4 iron with a subtle draw that clearly was on a good line then landed just left of the ridge and started rolling for the pin, so we knew it would be a good shot. As the ball continued to roll, the comments were coming about just how close it would be and then the suggestion it may go in. "Go, go, go!" Then the Titleist Pro V1, disappeared into the cup. I was still holding my follow through pose, enjoying the shot, but when the ball disappeared, I did not believe it at first and just stared in shock of the possibility. I finally believed it had happened and dropped my club as I turned to my foursome of three men I truly appreciate and love as brothers. Their expressions of absolute excitement confirmed the ace! Of course the yelling and screaming, the high fives and fist bumps, hugs and even being lifted into the air by Austin created quite a scene with noises of celebration echoing through Payne's Valley. The celebration could not be ignored by all the other foursomes surrounding #2 so they started yelling, “A hole in one? Who hit it?” Then the hollering and celebration and congratulations were multiplied but all the surrounding foursomes of friends. To be celebrated by so many great men who appreciated the feat and and poured out their congratulations both immediately and after the round and experiencing my first ace on such a beautiful and challenging golf hole was beyond what I could ever have imagined for my first (if ever) hole in one. It was not until I retrieved the ball from the hole that I realized it was a number 1 on the Pro V1. Perfect!
